Become a Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role at Shelter, Inc. Many volunteers give of their time at special events, fundraising opportunities, serving on committees and by providing clerical assistance in our office.

For those that are looking to make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children in our communities, there are a number of opportunities to get involved at Shelter, Inc.:

Shelter, Inc. Auxiliary: Become a part of this innovative and creative group. The Auxiliary is committed to supporting Shelter, Inc.’s services by sponsoring and coordinating fund-raising endeavors.

Friends of Shelter: This newly formed auxiliary group shares a common bond with Shelter, Inc., a desire to help raise funds for children that are victims of abuse and neglect through the support and coordination of fundraising events.

Charity Ball: Volunteer an evening of your time at this premiere event.  Greet and register guests, sell raffle tickets, assist with the silent and live auctions or help coordinate the many details and follow up that make this event successful.

Golf Outing: Spend a summer day on the course vounteering at our annual golf outing. Assist us in setting up, greeting and registering guests, selling raffle tickets and mulligans or running a betting hole.

Clerical: Join us in our office and assist us as we coordinate bulk mailings, prepare for upcoming events or conduct community education seminars.

5K Run/Walk 4 Kidz: Spend a morning at our Run/Walk for Kids assisting with setup, registration, food, water stations or as a course marshall.  This fun filled morning is a great activity for entire families or groups to get involved in.

Associates Board:  A group of Young Professionals who volunteer, fundraise, coordinate events, and raise awareness of Shelter’s programs.

By giving of your time, you will help ensure that Shelter, Inc. will continue to touch the lives of families and children in our communities and will be able to continue offering our valuable services within the Northern Suburbs.
